Process

Setting out to capture the uniqueness of your family through stories can seem a bit overwhelming. But don’t worry, our process is easy and a trained Family Facilitator is ready to guide you through every step so you can relax and have fun.

Our process – in two minutes

Plan

Every session includes a 20-minute video consultation with a Family Facilitator to answer questions and make building your plan easy.
Helpful Hint: Don’t think of a story as having a beginning, middle, and an end. It doesn’t need to be an extraordinary event like climbing a mountain or saving a life. A story can be simply talking about a specific time in one’s life (e.g., childhood, marriage, career, having kids).

Prepare

Select the stories you want to record. Check out our list of 15 story subjects, with 100+ questions that make great stories.
Helpful Hint: Be specific about the important dates, ages, locations, names, and relationships for each story. Write them down on a cheat sheet and bring it to your session so nothing gets left out.

Record

On the day of your session, gather your family, set up your camera and lighting, bring your stories, and have fun!
Helpful Hint: Sessions are more conversational and fun when multiple family members participate in the storytelling. It’s even better if they are from different generations.

Share

Share your story videos with friends and family. Your videos will arrive within an hour after your recording session is over.

Repeat

Record more stories because the first time was so amazing!
